ICE THE PIMPLE
This method works expectedly well. After all, pimples are nothing more but immune system induced inflammation. Get something like a frozen ice pack and put it against the pimple for 2-5 minutes.
Afterwards, you'll immediately notice that the size and redness of the pimple has reduced significantly. Repeat this a few more times for the rest of the day and by the next day the pimple should be completely gone.
SPOT TREAT WITH BENZOYL PEROXIDE
SPOT TREAT WITH BENZOYL PEROXIDE
Benzoyl peroxide is a common and effective topical treatment for acne that works by killing the acne causing bacteria and drying out the skin. In the case of the odd pimple or two, benzoyl peroxide is great for spot treating and getting rid of it overnight. Benzoyl peroxide typically comes in 2.5, 5, and 10% concentrations. Since you would only be spot treating one or two pimples with benzoyl peroxide, it is recommended you use the stronger 5 or 10% concentrations. Make sure when you spot treat the pimple you completely bury and suffocate the pimple in benzoyl peroxide instead of putting a small dab.
SPOT TREAT WITH SALICYLIC ACID
Salicylic acid belongs to a class of chemical compounds known as beta hydroxy acids. Salicylic acid works on acne by causing skin cells to shed more readily, opening clogged pores and neutralizing bacteria within. Salicylic acid is available in various percentage concentrations and, like benzoyl peroxide, it is recommended that you go with the higher concentration when spot treating. And, also like with benzoyl peroxide, make sure you completely bury the pimple instead of spot treating with a small dab.
POP THE PIMPLE
This is a last resort to getting rid of a pimple as soon as possible. As simple as it sounds, pop the pimple. Apply pressure on both sides with two fingers and push harder until it bursts. Although this is the quickest fix to getting rid of a pimple, it is not recommended because popping a pimple can push bacteria deeper into the hair follicle, possibly causing a more severe acne lesion. Also, popping a pimple can increase your chances of getting a scar. And, unlike pimples, scars are permanent.
